On Writing

“That’s my only defense against this world: to build a sentence out of it.” – Jim Harrison

“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” ~ Albert Einstein

“We do not need more people writing Christian books; what we need is more Christians writing good books.”
– C.S. Lewis

“To look at a work of art and then to make a judgment as to whether or not it is art, and whether or not it is Christian, is presumptuous. It is not something we can know in any conclusive way. We can know only if it speaks within our own hearts and leads us to living more deeply with Christ in God.”
– Madeleine L’Engle (1918-2007)

An interesting post on writing recently came to my attention.

The post, 20 Ways to Double Your Writing Productivity , is good advice for seasoned writers as well as those new to the art.

Thanks to Jennifer Frost for sending this to me. It includes valuable writing tips sprinkled with humor. I especially love Anton Chekhov’s key to showing instead of telling.
